Can you Handle the Cold?

Updated: Sep 26, 2023

In this case, being stone cold is a good thing. Did you know mastering physical feelings is a gateway to disciplining responses to emotional feelings? At Tim Hager Coaching we discover the origins of feelings and learn to master our responses in such away, that the feelings are no longer our master.

I ask Clients at Tim Hager Coaching to take cold showers. Why take a cold shower?[benefits of cold showers]. Cold showers elicit two different types of feelings, a primal response triggered in part by your anticipation of what cold water means for you, and two, the actual feeling of cold water as it cascades down your skin.

When given choice [important word] either you will or will not take a cold shower. Go for it, try it when done reading this blog. Go to step in a shower and there is a feeling that stops you, gives you pause from taking a cold shower. It either stops you or causes your muscles to tighten as you move forward, even if just for a brief moment . Notice the feeling. Cold water showers are good for you ... why do you get this feeling?

This process that causes you to pause in the face of a cold shower is built into your nervous system and can also trigger feelings causing you to hurt yourself, or those you care about most [ever lose your temper?]. Do you always do what "feelings say"? How old were you when feelings began to make choices for you?

At Tim Hager Coaching you will discover the origins of these feelings and learn to master your responses in such away, that the feelings are no longer your master. Master your feelings, schedule a session.
